Obituary in Crossville newspaper, June 28, 1899 - "Grassy Cove: Died - At his home near Glen Alice June 21, 1899, George F. Bristow, aged fourty-four years. He was converted at the age of 15 and joined the Baptist church, in Grassy Cove, of which he was a member at the time of his death. His wife, who was Miss Margaret DeRossett, still survives him; also a daughter and two sons, one of whom is in Texas. The body was interred in the graveyard here at the Baptist Church on last Thursday...."
