Dryden, VA - Roy Lee Gibson, 50, died at his home early Friday after suffering a heart attack.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Col. C. M. Hagy Chapter 45, Disabled American Veterans. He had been employed by Westmoreland Coal Company before becoming disabled.
Surviving are: His widow, Mrs. Ruth A. Gibson; stepson, Gary Gilmer of Big Stone Gap Rt. 2; stepdaughters, Mrs. Linda Marshall, Olathe, Ks and Mrs. Donna Olive, Orlando, FL; his mother Mrs. Elizabeth Gibson, Big Stone Gap, VA; brothers, Cecil Gibson, Richmond, VA , Maynard Gibson, Jr, Kingsport, TN, Charles Gibson, El Paso, TX, and Glenn Gibson, Altus, OK; one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Addington, Big Stone Gap, VA and eight grandchildren.
Roy A. Green Funeral Home of Appalachia is in charge. Burial in Powell Valley Cemetery, Dryden, VA.
