Florence P. Gluvna, 88, of Monroe died Wednesday morning in her home. Arrangements in Pennsylvania will be handled by Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Munhall, Pennsylvania. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Rupp Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. Born May 4, 1921 in Port Vue, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Andrew and Catherine (Hajtovik) Vanyo. She married Steven Glovna June 14, 1943; he died February 26, 2002. She taught exercise and physical therapy at a community college in Pennsylvania. She also led several senior exercise classes at Fountainview of Monroe, Norman Towers and the Monroe Senior Citizens Center at Mable Kehres Apartments. She was a member of Monroe Senior Citizens Center. She had been a cancer survivor since 1969. She is survived by her son Daniel (Lynn) Gluvna of LaSalle; a granddaughter, Brienne C. Gluvna of Raleigh, North Carolina; a brother, Andrew Vanyo of Tucson, Arizona and a sister, Bernadette (Jim) Fox of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, James and Regis Vanyo and a sister Ann B. Kliich. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way.
