Served in Company H, 15th SC Infantry Regiment

According to his niece, Polly Alverson (a double Alverson cousin), Giles came home sick during the war and died at home {Documentation supports that}; Also, his niece, Mabel (Alverson) Collins, applied for his grave marker.

Never Married

Note: Military record shows he was the son of Benj Alverson; Could this be Bery Alverson, instead? Giles is listed on 1850 & 1860 Census with the Nathaniel Greenberry "Berry" Alverson family; I have been unable to locate a Benjamin Alverson who could have potentially been Giles father

** If anyone has an explanation as to why Benjamin was listed as his father on his war/death record, please contact me **
