Mr. Englehart C. Ostby was a registered 1st class passenger on the HMS Titanic. He boarded in South Hampton and was sailing toward Providence RI. After the disaster the White Star line contracted with ships to recover bodies still afloat. The cable repair ship, CS-Mackay-Bennett recovered 328, Mr. Ostby was #234.

Services for Victim of Titanic Disaster from Former Home
The funeral of Engelhart C. Ostby, the Providence manufacturing jeweler who was drowned in the Titanic disaster, will be held from his former home, 61 Cooke street, at 12 o'clock noon on Saturday.
Mr. Ostby's body was recovered by the cable steamer Mackay-Bennett and taken to Halifax, N.S., and was sent from there to Boston on Tuesday night, arriving in Boston yesterday. It arrived here at noon to-day.

Manufacturing Jeweler of Providence, Who Was Drowned When the Titanic Went Down
PROVIDENCE, RI. May 4- The funeral of Englehart [sic] C. Ostby, the manufacturing jeweler who was drowned when the Titanic went down, was held at his late residence in this city this afternoon. The services were private.
The body was recovered by the cable steamer Mackay-Bennett, and arrived here from Halifax yesterday.
