Cliffa was the niece of artist Mark Tobey and an accomplished artist herself.
Obituary
Born in Chicago, Illinois on Nov. 18, 1907. Died in Roseville on Sept. 20, 2002. She is survived by her sister Frances Foote, Niece Janet Paul, nephew Mark Foote.
During the Depression she painted for the WPA in Chicago. In 1940 & 1941 she went to Santa Monica where she worked for Douglas Aircraft as a draftsman until after the war. She moved to Sacramento in 1952. She was the first woman working as a draftsman/delineator at the Dept. of Fish & Game where she worked from 1952 - 1972 when she retired. Graveside Services will be held at Sacramento Memorial Lawn at 11am on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002. In lieu of flowers, Remembrances can be made to the charity of your choice.
