World War I United States Army Officer. He served during World War I as a Captain in the 314th Infantry Regiment, 79th Division, AEF. He was killed in action on November 10, 1918, and lies buried in Plot D, Row 40, Grave 8 of the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne, France.

His family erected a cenotaph to him in their plot at Old Saint David's Church Cemetery, Wayne, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
