Glen Albert Mortensen, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 21, 2011 at his home.

Glen was born December 1, 1933 in Moscow, Idaho, to William Albert Mortensen and Ora Frances Nicholson Mortensen. He graduated from Moscow High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Idaho, He attended the Oak Ridge School of Reactor Technology (ORSORT) and received his Doctorate of Engineering from the University of California, Berkley.

He married Patricia Louise Harkness on August 16, 1959 in Rockville, Maryland. They made their home in Albany, California for five years and moved to Idaho Falls in 1963 where Glen worked as an engineer at the INL.

Glen was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA); the American Nuclear Society (ANS); and Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, backpacking, and genealogy research.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
