Alta Leona Nebeker, 83, of Emmett, died Thursday, Oct 5, 2000, in a Nampa care center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday, Oct 10, at the LDS Church in downtown Emmett. Burial will follow at the Emmett Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday from 2 to 8pm at the Potter Funeral Chapel, Emmett, where the family will receive friends at 6 to 8pm.
Alta was born Feb 7, 1917, at Lorenzo, Idaho, the daughter of William James and Sylvia Harriett Clark Barker. She married Delyle John Nebeker on Oct 8, 1932. They farmed in the Rigby and Mud Lake area before moving to the Emmett Valley in 1951.
Alta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She always worked very hard for her family. She loved the mountains, camping, fishing and hunting. She loved her flowers.
Alta is survived by her children, Lyle, Walt and Larry, all of Emmett, Calvin of Kuna, Dorothy Walker of Portland, Or, Geri Dewy of St Helens, Or. There are 24 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, tow great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-stepgrandchild.
Alta was preceded in death by her husband, Delyle; a daughter, Elaine; a son, Ronnie; and an infant daughter; her parents; a brother, Walter; sisters, Verna, LaVerda and Ella; and a grandson, Bryan.
