Services for Jon Gullett, 56, of Washington, formerly of Chillicothe, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Vernon Bettermann will officiate. He was pronounced dead at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He died from head injuries suffered when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a deer Tuesday on Spring Bay Road in Woodford County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Weber Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery in rural Chillicothe. Born April 2, 1944, in Chicago to Dr. W. "Irv" and Ruth Johnson Gullett, he was raised by his grandparents, Joe and Nelle Gullett. He married Suzanne Brasche in March 1998. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Scott (Amber) Hall and Charity Gullett, both of Pekin; one son, Ty of Pekin; one stepsister, Gayle Tragger of Lake Forest, Calif.; and two grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.

A graduate of Bradley University, he worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 33 years, retiring in July 1999. He also hand-carved and restored furniture in the Washington area.
