Earl Euclair Peters the son of Russell Sherman and Alice Smith Peters was born June 24, 1895 in Decatur County, Iowa and died at the home of his brother Charles in south Leon on August 14, 1964 at the age 69 years, 1 month, and 21 days.He lived near Leon all his life and made many friends.
During World War I he was called to active duty in 1918 serving 14 months in France.
He united in marriage to Vashti Copeland of Batavia.
Preceding Earl in death were his wife, parents, two brothers Delbert who died in infancy and Lawrence. One brother-in-law Oral McKinney also preceded him in death.
Left to mourn his passing are three brothers: Charles, Clifford and Harold of Leon, Iowa; three sisters: Golda McKinney of Lagrande, Oregon; Maude Peters of Leon; Viola Papich of Des Moines, Iowa and two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Frank Papich and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Stewart Funeral Home in Leon on Sunday August 2, 1964 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Mildred Baker officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery.
