He is also survived by two brothers; Garth and (Alyce) Childs of Huntington, David and (Kim) Childs of Tacoma, Wash.
Richard was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved fishing, camping, riding 4-wheelers, working with his friends at Nielson Construction, and being with his family which he loved dearly. He also served 25 years with the Emery County Search and Rescue and about 10 years as a volunteer fire chief in the Emery Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, and his in-laws Rex and Barbara Addley.
Funeral services will be held July 31 at 1 p.m. in the Emery Ward chapel in Emery. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. prior to the funeral, and a viewing will also be held July 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale. Burial will be at the Emery City Cemetery.
