PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla./COLCHESTER, Vt. - Earle William Allard, formerly of Colchester, and later of Bridgewater, Vt. and Desoto County, Fla. passed away on Feb. 17, 2011 in Port Charlotte, Fla. following a long illness.
Earle was born on May 8, 1932, the only son of Ada and William Allard of Bridgewater.
For nearly 60 years he shared his life with his wife and partner, Margaret "Peg" Allard. He was adored by his three sisters and brother-in-laws, Olive and the late Colburn Greenough, Pauline and Donald Carr, and Kathleen and Horace Carr, all from Bridgewater. He was a strong father to his two children, Angela Allard of South Hero, and Matthew Allard of Seattle, Wash. His two grandchildren, Kalvin Allard DeForge and Jessica Joyce DeForge, both from Colchester, brought such great joy to his life, and he to theirs.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, 11 a.m., at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte, Fla.
A gathering of friends and family will follow the mass at the church.
A graveside service will be planned for later this year in Bridgewater, under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.
