Luther W. Ashley

GILLUM—Luther W Ashley, 90, of R.R. 1. Gillum, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday at Roanoke Nursing Home in Roanoke. He had been a patient for two months.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Stensel's Funeral Home in Le Roy. The Rev. Bruce Badger will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery at Downs.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock tonight at the funeral home.

He was born June 29. 1879 at Glendean, Ky., a son of Louis and Sally Ann Wells Ashley. He married Mattie Williams in 1905 at Glendean.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Ted Folty, Goodfield; Mrs. Jess Nevius, Kappa: a son, Calvin, Lexington: three brothers, Pice, Sherman, and Luke, Junction City, Kan.: two sisters. Mrs. Mary Dean Bryant. Junction City, Kan. : Mrs. Beulha Eaton, Kansas City. Kan.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and had been a farmer in the Gillum area since 1927.
