Joseph S. Arvin

LeROY (PNS) - Joseph S. Arvin, 90, of LeRoy died at 5:30 a.m. yesterday (July 11, 1964) at Shainel Manor Nursing & Retirement Home, Normal.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bruce Memorial Home, the Rev. Norman Toney officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Downs.

Visitation will be an hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 22, 1893, at Station Camp. Ky., a son of Homer and Margaret Campbell Arvin. He married Grace Irene Killion Aug. 18, 1815, in Bloomington. She died Nov. 30, 1980.

Mr. Arvin had lived in the Leroy area from 1924 to January 1983, when he moved to Shamel Manor.

He was employed by Jones Oil and Supply Co. of LeRoy for several years, and worked as a cabinetmaker and did residential construction before retiring in 1958.

He was a lifetime member of LeRoy Masonic Lodge 221, and a member of LeRoy Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the church or to LeRoy Ambulance Service.
