Melvin Thurman Hux, age 88, of Fulton, Missouri, died Thursday, November 20, 2008, at his home.

Melvin was born May 7, 1920, in Fortsworth, Texas, the son of the late William Dorothy and Annie Lee (Hennessey) Hux.

Melville married Nona Lee Boone on June 7, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas. Nona survives at their home.

Along with his wife of fifty-five years, Nona Lee, he is survived by two sons, M. Thurman Hux Jr. and W. David Hux, both of Fulton, Missouri; two daughters, Diana Bang of Greenville, Ohio and Connie Coleman of Fulton, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren, Donna Winters, Debbie Clubb, Derek Hux, Erin Bolyard, Delores Fox, Meredith Carey, Haley Hux, David Coleman Jr., all of Fulton, Missouri, Sallie Humphrey and Bessie Boese of Mokane, Missouri, Matt Hux of Columbia, Missouri, Rebecca Chaney, Meagan Carey, Mark Hux and Zach Carey, all of Texas, Jason Bang of Ohio and Jenny Haguewood of West Virginia; twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hux served in the Navy during World War 11.

He and Nona moved their children from Fort Worth, Texas to Fulton in 1964.

They were founding and faithful members of the Fulton Church of Christ in Fulton.

Mr. Hux worked at Carpet Values Distributing as a Senior Sales Representitive for the past thirty years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, November 24, 2008, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Milton Wilson will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fair Haven Children's Home in Stafford, Missouri.
