Brown, Mary Taylor and Sallie Mitchell. The family moved to Sand Mountain in the early 1920s, where she met and married George D. Sizemore in 1928. They were blessed with five children, Suevilla Pendergrass (the late Gordon), George Lee (Joyce), Sara Lindsay, Sharlon Knight (Charles G.) and Charles Edward (Debi).
They had 12 grandchildren, Robert Pendergrass (Joanne), Natalie Burns (John), Lee Sizemore (Vickie), Starla Reddick (Doug), Andrea Knight, Stuart Knight, Jason Knight (Angie), Jessica Deen (Murray), Jennifer Roberts (Wayne), Carley Windsor (John), Chip Sizemore, Chad Sizemore (Candace) and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Charlie loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, above all. She was His faithful servant. Many children who grew up in Sylvania Baptist were in "Sunbeams" with her. She lived next to Sylvania School for 60 years, and she was a favorite substitute teacher in the 1960s and 1970s. Many students went to her house after band, cheerleader, football and basketball practice to "use her phone to call home." She was always hospitable. She was a wonderful cook and a joy to all who knew her.
At Gadsden Health Care where she lived for the last six years, she quoted John 3:16 to all she met. When other memories failed her, she could still remember hymns and Bible verses and quoted and sang them often. She will be missed.
