Mr. Jeter owned and operated an oil and gasoline business for 42 years in Lee's Summit. He sold the business in 1980 and retired.
He was a member of the Lee'Summit Christian Church and served for many years as an elder and deacon. He was a charter member of the Lee's Summit Lions Club, a member of the Lee's Summit Masonic Lodge, a member of Scottish Rite and a member of the Ararat Shrine.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Jeter, of the home; a daughter, Sandra Stephenson, Nashville; and a grandson, Brian Stephenson, Nashville.
Services were Nov. 7, 2001, at Langsford Funeral Home. Lee's Summit. Burial was in the Raymore Cemetery.
