Bennett Almon was born Feb. 11th, 1824, died Oct. 23, 1902, being at the time of his death 78 years, 7 months and 12 days old. He was married to Miranda Armstrong of Gibson county, Feb. 12, 1846, having lived together for 56 years. To this union was born 12 children, 8 of whom survive him, four having preceded him to the better world. There were 41 grandchildren, 32 of whom are living and 21 great grand children, 16 of whom are living. He professed a hope in the Savior in 1842 and united with Black River church and was baptized by Rev. Jacob Speer. He was a member for 60 years. he has been an earnest worker for the Master, ever ready to extend help to those struggling for a higher and better life.
