COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Hubert Daniel Carter, 78, will be held Monday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Cookeville Cemetery. Family will receive friends today, Sunday, Dec. 27, from 5-8 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 28, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Mr. Carter died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 21, 1931, in Putnam County to the late Willis and Ethel McKinley Carter. Mr. Carter was a retired farmer and a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church for 66 years. His family includes two daughters, Diane Carter and Teresa Farris, both of Cookeville; a brother, Charles Carter of Algood; four sisters, Pauline Johnson, Willene Choate and Ann Welch, all of Cookeville, and Sue Birdwell of Maryville; three granddaughters, Amy Allen and husband Brian of Alpharetta, Ga., Jennifer Wilson of Cookeville and
Michele Margolin of Kansas City, Mo.; five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces
and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Carter; and three brothers,
Willis (Bill) Jr., Dow and Davis Carter.
