Jerry William Striplin, of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2006. He was 75. Mr. Striplin was born in Carroll County, Georgia on June 13, 1931 to the late Houston Brown and Erma Barnes Striplin. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired as the owner and operator of the Economy Home and Garden Store in Bowdon. Always active in the community, Mr. Striplin was a member of Victory United Methodist Church, Bowdon Masonic Lodge #206, and the Bowdon SERTOMA club.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Striplin was preceded in death by a brother, Howell Striplin. He is survived by his wife, Martha Styles Striplin of Bowdon; a son, MIchael (Kay) Striplin of Bowdon; two grandsons, Justin Striplin and Jeremy Striplin, both of Carrollton; and sisters, Rachael (Lanier) Price of Fayetteville, GA and Jean Striplin on Kentucky.
Funeral services held Tuesday, July 18 at Victory United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tommy Greer officiating. Music provided by Richard Allen and Mrs. Donna Baldwin. Pallbearers are Jeff Price, Lewis Styles, Jerry Yates, Johnny Huey, Jimmy Watts, and Chris Argo. Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Allen, Jerry Crawford, Alvin Chambers, and David Tisinger. Graveside services and interment held in the church cemetery. Rainwater Funeral Home, Bowdon, in charge of arrangements.
