Clark Hatton Dinwiddie, 96, of Attica, died at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica.

He was born southeast of Mellott on Sept. 1, 1914 to the late Russell Clark and Hattie Mae Shultz Dinwiddie. On March 12, 1939, he married Celena Lucille Myers in Hillsboro. She preceded him in death on Nov. 17, 2002. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Dinwiddie; a granddaughter, Diane Phillips Gerard and his sister, Kathryn Cushman.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Phillips (companion: Bill Perrin) of Attica, and Sherry Hanlin of Carmel; a brother, the Rev. George Dinwiddie of LaGrange; 4 grandchildren, David Phillips (wife: Janine) of Veedersburg, Doug Phillips (wife: Kim) of Attica, Melissa Uhrick (husband: Jason) of Cicero, and Molly Schott (husband: Kirby) of Indianapolis; 12 great-grandchildren, Samantha Bayless (husband: Brian); Weston and Caleb Phillips; Lindsay, Justin and Sydney Phillips; Ryan and Lucy Uhrick and Edward, Josephine, Charles and Frances Schott; two great-great-grandchildren, Alek Bayless and Aubrey Synesael and his special friend, June Christie, Attica.
