VIOLET WHITT GRIFFIN

STERLING CITY Violet Whitt Griffin, 94, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, at her home in San Angelo. She was born Nov. 10, 1906, in Cherokee, Texas, to Frank and Dolly Whitt.

She was married to Lloyd A. Griffin for over 60 years. The couple had four children who survived infancy, Nell Currington, Beth Kilpatrick, Don Griffin and Sue Griffin.

Violet and Lloyd lived in Barnhart for many years before moving to
Sterling City, where they resided for over 30 years. They were members
of the Sterling City Church of Christ. In San Angelo, Mrs. Griffin
attended the Northside Church of Christ. She was a gifted seamstress.

She is preceded in death by her husband, two infant sons, a sister, a brother, and a grandson.

She is survived by two sisters, Florice Robbins of Baird and Ivadell (Cecil) Blackburn of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Church service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Sterling
City Church of Christ. A burial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday
