Mr. Bell was born Jan. 2, 1916, in Lone Tree, Iowa, the son of Charles and Edith Walker Bell.
Service was held Feb. 6 at the First Assembly of God Church, Gray Summit. The Rev. Lloyd Ward officiated. Arrangements were in the care of Bell Funeral Home, Pacific, Mo.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, working at the ammunition plant in Hastings, Neb.
He was a farmer for many years in Iowa and later worked at Patke Dairy in Villa Ridge and George's Apple Orchard in Pacific.
He is survived by 17 children, Marilyn Morrison, Muscatine, Iowa, Robert Bell and wife, Cheryl, Hemet, Calif., Charlotte Anderson, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Michael Bell, Overland Park, Kan., Miora Carrott, Peculiar, Mo., Mary Martz and husband, Robert, Muscatine, Sheri Conville, Gray Summit, Rebecca Boxx and husband, Danny, Villa Ridge, Patricia Wolfe, Gray Summit, Vernon Bell Jr., and wife, Kerrie, Foristell, Mo., Julian Huff, Chicago, Ill., Margaret Huff, Chicago, Ill., Jim Kelley, Council, Idaho, Vera Rogers, Warrenton, Cecil Kelly, Brenda Phillips and husband, John and Deanna Becham and husband, Gary, all of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Darryl Bell and wife, Carolyn, Lone Tree; two sisters, Susan Vaughn and Darlene Wrigley, both of Oceanside, Calif.; and more than 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a best friend, Harry McCloud of Indiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Margaret Cannon Bell and Hattie Malin Bell; a daughter Carolyn Bell; four brothers, Fredrick, Lawrence, Charles and Jimmy Bell; two sisters, Dorothy Demean and Patricia Griffith.
