Mary E. Dressler, 77, of RR1 McAlisterville, died Sunday, August 4, 1996 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born May 3, 1919 in McAlisterville, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd Richard Sr. and Margaret Lucinda (Smith) Colyer. Her husband, Kenneth N. Dressler, whom she married March 1, 1939 in McAlisterville, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Kenneth Dean Dressler of Richfield; a daughter, Mary Evelyn (Peach) Yeater of McAlisterville; five brothers, George Colyer of McAlisterville, William Colyer of Thompsontown, Norman Colyer of Richfield, Cloyd Colyer Jr. of McAlisterville, Roy Colyer of Mifflintown; three sisters, Esther Billow of McAlisterville, Althea Meiser of McAlisterville, Mildred Dunn of Thompsontown; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were: one brothers, Albert Colyer and two sisters, Ruth Colyer and Anna Mae Weiand. She was employed with Shellenberger & Sons Factories in McAlisterville from 1938 to 1941. Mrs. Dressler was a member of Bunkertown Church of the Brethren where she served as a member of the Hostess Committee, Womens work member and Secretary of Sunday School Class. She also served as a co-ordinator for Meals on Wheels. The funeral service will be held today (Wednesday) in the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Elwood O. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Goodwill Cemetery, McAlisterville. The Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville was in charge of the arrangements.
