Lena May Thurston, 72, of Austin, Tex. died Dec 19, 1991 in the Pflugerville Care Center in Pflugerville, Tex. She was born May 1, 1919 near Brumley to Greenberry Jr. and Charlsie Helton Pope. In 1937 she was married to Webster Adams. Later she was married to William Thurston, who died Nov. 24, 1975.

Mrs. Thurston moved to Callaway County near Fulton with her family in 1930 after the Lake of the Ozarks claimed the Pope farm. She was a member of the Richland Baptist Church at Kingdom City and she attended Fulton High School. She later worked in Fulton before moving to St. Louis where she ran her own upholstery business. She moved to Texas after the death of her husband.

Surviving her are a daughter, Allie Mae Grace of Austin, Tex.; a son, Dale Adams of Austin, Tex.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Mary Ross and Dorothy Eastwood of Fulton, Nancy "Bertie" Hays of St. James, Lucille Cobb of Springfield, Ruby Monk of Wendell, Idaho, Jean Bolton and Dean Reed, both of Kingdom City, and Fay Humbird of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three brothers, James Pope of Fulton, Joe Pope of Kingdom City and William Pope of San Antonio, Tex.

Funeral services were held Dec. 24 at Debo Funeral Chapel in Fulton with the Rev. Chuck Lee officiating. Burial was in Callaway Memorial Gardens at Fulton.
