Andrew was ninth child of fifteen born to Daniel VanMeter and Sarah C. Kimble VanMeter. On the 29th of April 1903 he married Bertha Conrad (Judy) daughter of Noah Judy and Clara (Ours) Judy. Of this union was born 7 children. Margie(1904-1993) md. John Ratcliff ; Clara May (1907-1989) md. John Franklin Alt; Okey Gabriel (1909-1995) md. Dora Alt; Pearl(1913-1992) md. George Washington Kile; Emmett Henry (1916-1994)md. Leona Riggleman, Orville (1918-?) md. Evelyn Yokum; Herbert Lonzo (1921-1997) md. Marie Juliet Nesselrodt.
A funeral service was held at the Bethel Church of the Brethren for Andrew VanMeter, 85, who died at his home at Landes. The Rev. L. H. Swiger and the Rev. Dee Flory officiated.
