AMANDA GUPTON
---Mrs. Amanda Gupton was born in Shelby County, Kentucky on the 16th day of May, 1847.
---She departed this life July 27, 1905, being 58 years, two months and twelve days of age.
---In 1850 she, with her father and one sister, came to Macon County, Missouri.
---In April, 1865, she was married to her now bereaved husband, Thomas Gupton. To this union were born nine children, three daughters and six sons. The three daughters have preceded their mother to their heavenly home and now have clasped hands with mother, never more to part again.
---At the early age of nineteen she united with the Christian Church, later she and her husband were members of the Baptist Church. In the later years of life they have both been members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South.
---Sister Gupton was an unassuming, kind-hearted christian lady, a devoted, patient wife and companion, a loving thoughtful, prayerful mother, anxious about the spiritual welfare of her children. Could we voice her most earnest desire today, it would be that all of her loved ones should meet in heaven and they will be an unbroken family around the throne of God, throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.
---The funeral was preached Saturday at the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and the remains were laid to rest in the La Plata cemetery.
