Mr. James E. Ice, age 85, of P.O. Box 3, Hepzibah, WV went to be with his Lord and family early Sunday morning, February 12, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Harrisburg, PA, October 30, 1920 a son of the late Albert Minor Ice and Mary Alice Davis Ice.
His wife of over sixty-five years, Maxine Emma Valent Ice, whom he married January 24, 1940, preceded him in death on November 24, 2005.
Surviving are, three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Ann Lynch and Judy F. & Jimmy Lynch, all of Clarksburg, WV and Janie E. Ice, New Stanton, PA, three grandchildren, Ellisa Lugo, Homestead, FL, Lori Fontanez, Dola, WV and Robert A. Lynch, Bridgeport, WV, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ice was also preceded in death by one son, James R. Ice, one brother, Kenneth Ice, and three sisters, Edith Stout, Ruby Williams, and Ruth Pierce and a son-in-law, Bob Lynch. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family
Mr. Ice was a life member of the Meuse-Argonne Post # 573 V.F.W. of Clarksburg, the American Legion Post # 68 of Bridgeport, the A. A. R. P. and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter & sportsman. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the AFL-CIO as a Teamster. He was a retired truck driver with over 25 years of service with Cook Motor Lines.
Friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg from 2:00 til 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Chad Hutson presiding. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
