William Troy "Bill" Pennington, 68, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, atBaptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany. He was bornSept. 19, 1934, in Benton County to the late Silas Filmore and MamieMayes Pennington. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was employed asa sewing machine mechanic at Munsingwear for 20 years. He also workedfor Irwin B. Schwabe and Landau. He was a member of the MacedoniaBaptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at United Funeral Service Chapel inNew Albany with the Rev. Billy Lee Foley and the Rev. Gary Linvilleofficiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Bonnie Sue RakestrawPennington of Myrtle; a daughter, Tammy Pennington of Myrtle; a son,Tim Pennington and wife, Rhonda, of Myrtle; a sister, Chris Whalen andhusband, Pat, of Memphis; a brother, Otis Ferrel Pennington of SouthCarolina; a grandson, Brandon, of Oxford.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene McBryde and KatherineAnderson.

Pallbearers will be Carmen Guin, Roy Conaway, Carlton Fair, Ray Brock,Jerry Towery and Jimmy Roberson.
