Serafin Anaya, 92, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on February 11, 2011. Mr. Anaya is survived by his son, Martin Anaya; his brother, Clarence Anaya and wife, Corkey; his grandchildren, Martin Serafin Anaya, Angeline Jordan and husband, Bill, Isaiah Orona and Sherry, and Felecia Orona; six great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Anaya was preceded in death by his wife, Amalia (Mollie) Anaya; and his daughter, Mary (Julia) Anaya. Mr. Anaya was a member of the Catholic Church, and a Veteran of the U S Army, serving during WWII. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., by Gabriella Nieto. Final visitation will be on Thursday in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW, at 9:00 a.m., Father Bill Sanchez, presider. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations/contributions be made to : UNM Children's Cancer Center.
