George M. Walker

George Marion Walker, son of Calvin Eli and Joanna Cronk Walker, was born July 6, 1881; in Mercer County, Missouri; and passed away July 5, 1964 at the Plainville Rest Home, lacking one day of being 83 years of age.
As A young man he came to this part of the county to work and met and married Minnie Florence Hays of Alton, Kansas in 1903. To this union were born five daughters and three sons; Mabel Palmer, Violet Byfield, Edith Troyer, Gladys Search, Velma Bedore, Loyal, Glenn and Raymond. The most of his married life was spent in Osborne and Rooks counties. He professed his faith in Christ and with his wife became a member of Methodist Church of Stockton in 1951.
Those preceding him in death were his wife, Minnie, daughter Edith, brothers Simpson and Troy; a sister Dora and eight grandchildren.
Those to mourn his passing are his children, Violet Byfield, Velma Bedore, Loyal, Glenn and Raymond, all of Stockton; Mabel Palmer of Woodston, and Gladys Search of Logan; five sons-in-law, and three daughters-in-law; one brother, Davie of Missouri; one half-brother Orville Walker of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 30 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
