Jacob Waggoner, a farmer, married Malinda Jane Byrd.

The Waggoners and other families left VA in 1774 and remained in TN about 20 years. Then Jacob and Jane are found in Russell Co. VA in 1796. In that year they bought land from William Buster whose wife was Mary.

The Washington Co. Survey Book states "surveyed for John Buster 379 acres on both sides of Sinking Creek, waters of Clinch River...end of spur of Mockisan Ridge."

This became Russell Co. in 1786. Jacob and Jane's land in 1796 was also on Sinking Creek.

Some have suggested that her name was simply "Jane" NOT "Malinda Jane".

Malinda Waggoner (65758026)

Suggested edit: This lady was just "Jane" There is no record of her name as Malinda! There is no evident grave marker because NO BURIAL IS KNOWN!
