Mary Jane Snyder, 88, formerly of Hyde Park, died Feb. 16, 2011, in Monkton, Md., at the home of her daughter, Marcia Krempasanka, with whom she resided since 2010.
Her husband, Leon H. Snyder, died Sept. 7, 1978.
Born April 12, 1922, in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Albright) Leinbach.
She graduated from Reading High School. After raising her family, she worked for Temple Apparel.
She was a member of both the Temple and Goodwill Fire Company Auxiliaries and the Grace Alsace 50 Plus Club.
She loved to travel and became affiliated with White Star Tours. She organized and hosted numerous excursions - from one-day casino trips to longer Hawaiian vacations.
She is survived by two sons, L. Thomas Snyder, Navarre, Fla.; and Robert L., husband of Linda Snyder, Tucson, Ariz.; and two daughters, M. Jean Wolfe, wife of Timothy D., Exeter Township; and Marcia Krempasanka, wife of Dr. Edward Krempasanka, Monkton, Md.
She has one surviving brother, Robert Leinbach, West Lawn.
She was predeceased by brothers, Lloyd and George Leinbach; and sisters, Charlotte Giles and Pauline Leinbach. There are also five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchild-ren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home Inc., 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple, with the Rev. Grant Wickert officiating. Burial will follow in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
