John Weyman Hawk, 87, of Rutledge, died Wednesday, August 5, 1998.

He was born in Walton County on February 27, 1911, the son of the late Tom Hawk and the late Bessie Adcock Hawk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Daniel Hawk, a son, Billy Hawk, and daughter, Joyce Major.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 6th, at two o'clock at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Reverend Don Malcom officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Betty Ervin, Rutledge; brother Harold Hawk, Madison, sister, Ollie Mae Tamplin, Madison, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Meadows Funeral Home, Inc., Monroe was in charge of arrangements.
