AUSTINVILLE --- George Washington Doss, 78, of Austinville, died in a Dublin nursing home Sunday July 31, 1972.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Clara Coulson Doss; six daughters, Mrs. Edria Sexton, Galax; Mrs. Mildred Nester, Austinville; Mrs. Pearl Cameron and Mrs. Lillie Cameron, Athol, N. Y.; Mrs. Louella Martin, Max Meadows, and Mrs. Barbara Pack, High Point, N. Y.; three sons, Michael Doss and Clyde Doss, Worth, W. Va.; and Junior Doss, Austinville, two brothers, Charlie Doss, Fries, and Robert Doss, Ivanhoe; and four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Carter, Ridgeway; Mrs. Carrie Sisk, Austinville; Mrs. Flossie Stoneman, Galax, and Mrs. Parris Waller, Oak Hill, W. Va.
Funeral services will be held today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at the Sheeptown Church of God, in Carroll County. Interment will be in Monta Vista Memory Gardens, Galax.
Morehead Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

According to the 1972 calendar if he died on Sunday it would have been July 30th not the 31. Death certificate also gives 30 Jul 1972 as date of death.
