Billy Gene Wheeler, of Memphis, TN passed away Monday, February 14 at the University Hospital after a short illness. Billy was born on March 2, 1934 at Wynnburg in Lake County, TN. As a young man he served in the National Guard. Billy was a retired employee of the General Services Department of the City of Memphis where he served as supervisor in the carpentry department. Billy is survived by two sons, Larry Wheeler (Melanie) and Jerry Wheeler (Ramelle) both of Memphis, TN, two brothers Joe and Jimmy Wheeler both of Brighton, TN, and three sisters Lou Grasser of Munford, TN, Elaine Grisham of Bartlett, TN and Martha Sanders of Knoxville, TN. Billy is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday, February 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue.
