Jo Ann Camden Absher

Jo Ann Camden Absher was born August 1, 1934 to Joseph A. Harral and Velma Worthen Harral in Murphysboro, Illinois and passed away February 12, 2011 in Saint John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 76.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Earl Camden; husband, Charles R. Absher; sister-in-law, Berneice Gant and husband Jake; brothers-in-law, Denver (Postie) Camden and wife Mae, Gordon (Doc) Camden and wife Rhonda, Buel Camden, Cled Volsoano; and nephews Joe Butler, Jack Moore and LCpl. Kenny Corzine.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann Camden Gromer and husband Dennis G. Gromer; grandson, Heath Gromer; sisters, Wanda Volsoano, of Bethalto, Illinois, Sharon Collins, of Bethalto, Illinois, Juanita Followell and husband Orville, of Murphysboro, Illinois, Wilma Butler, of Bethalto, Illinois; special friend, Betty Vaughn, of Bethalto, Illinois; sister-in-law, Nadine Camden, of Saint Louis, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends from her church families.

Jo Ann was currently an active member of First Baptist Church of Strafford. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn East Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16 from 5 to 8 p.m., in Greenlawn East and the funeral will be Thursday, February 17 at 11 a.m., in Greenlawn East. Graveside services will be held in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, Missouri Thursday, February 17, at 4 p.m.
