Survivors are: daughter, Linda Bramer and her husband, Vince, of Omaha; sons, Gary and his wife, Carol, of Omaha, Larry and his wife, Holly, of Rochester, Minn., and Richard and his wife, Martha, of Coppell, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Henry was a 1927 graduate of Bloomfield High School. Henry entered into the U.S. Navy on Jan. 31, 1944, serving in Pearl Harbor during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 8, 1945.

After their marriage, he and Margaret lived throughout Nebraska and South Dakota for 12 years before settling down in Kearney in 1951, where they continued their volunteer activities. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the Department of Plant Pest Control for 47 years.

Henry was a member of First United Methodist Church of Kearney, American Legion, Golden K Kiwanis, state past president of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Fort Kearney Rock Club, AARP and the Buffalo County Historical Society, former board member of the Senior Hospitality Center and was named the Freedom Award Humanitarian.

Henry enjoyed creating original stained glass works of all shapes and sizes and taught the art for more than 20 years. His work can be viewed in numerous churches in Kearney, including First United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters and great-granddaughter, Shandra Preisendorf.

It's poetic a man of 102 years of age shall die on Valentine's Day. His love for life continues on in spirit.
