OBITUARY
Anna Catherine Margaretha Stahr, nee Buesing, was born in Oldenburg, Germany, July the 28th, 1838. On June the 21st 1861 she was united in marriage to Diedrich Stahr. In 1868 the deceased came to America to make her home, settling down with her family in Antagamy, Co., Wis. After having resided there for 7 years, she moved to York Co., Neb., in October 1875. Together with her family she belonged to the first members of the Evang. Luth. Congregation at Beaver Creek, York Co., Neb. Here the deceased lived up to the death of her husband, who passed away 8 years ago. After the death of her husband, our deceased mother made her home with her daughter, Emilie, Mrs. Arthur Wellman of Waco, Neb., where she died on January the 31th. She reached the age of 82 years, 6 months and 3 days. Her married life was blessed with 9 children, 7 daughters and 2 sons. One daughter died in early infancy in Germany, and another daughter at the age of 43 years in York Co., Neb. Besides her surviving children who are H. C. Stahr, Blue Hill; Charles Stahr, Grand Island; Mrs. John Gunlach, Utica; Mrs. B. Naber of near Waco; Mrs. William Tieken of near Waco; Mrs. Ryan Wellman, Waco and Mrs. Arthur Wellman, she leaves 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. . . The body was laid to its last resting place in St. John's Lutheran cemetery at Beaver Creek, awaiting there the glorious morning of the resurrection. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. A. Firnhaber of Waco, Neb., who preached both in German and English. May our deceased mother rest in peace.
