Elisha H. Burnett
Elisha Harold Burnett, 75, resident of RFD 1, Woodlawn, died in Pulaski Hospital, Pulaski, early Friday, August 11, 1961. He had been in ill health for some time.
Mr. Burnett was born in Carroll County September 25, 1885, a son of the late Elisha Harold Burnett, Sr., and wife, Mrs. Martha Alley Burnett.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Etta Jennings Burnett; three sons, Clise Burnett and Clifton Burnett, both of Woodlawn, and Halvor Burnett, Galax; two daughters, Mrs. Chester Edwards and Mrs. Dyer Smythers, both of Woodlawn; one sister, Mrs. Sirena Waller, Woodlawn; ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Hebron Christian Church Sunday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. W. I. Melton, pastor of the church, and the Rev. D. Gilmer Bedsaul.
Interment was in Monta Vista Memory Gardens.
The body was removed Saturday at 1 p.m. from Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, to the residence, and was taken to the church one hour before the services.
