JAMES BLISSARD

HOUSTON - James Kimble Blissard, 98, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Trace Regional Hospital. He was born May 17, 1912, to George Wesley Blissard and Cannie Rebecca Thorn Blissard. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Wesley Fellowship Class. He was a school bus driver for 20 years, a farmer and an employee of MPI Inc. He was a Christian, a devoted husband, and a loving father and grandfather.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church of Houston with Bro. Phillip Dearman, Bro. Daniel Heeringa and Bro. James Hildebrand officiating. Burial will be in Chickasaw Memorial Garden Cemetery. Southern Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Carole Blissard Wofford and Jimmy of Houston; one son, James Eric Blissard and Peanut of Calhoun City; one granddaughter, Kim Blissard McCoy and Randy, and one grandson, Jim Blissard and Cindy, all of Houston; three great-grandsons, Chad McCoy, Blake McCoy and Dexter Blissard; one great-granddaughter, Alex Blissard; a brother, Grady Blissard and Elizabeth of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jennie Dee Langley Blissard, on April 17, 1998; his parents; three sisters, Nona Lovelace, Clytee Ashby and Madge Fleming; and three brothers, Walton, Ulmont and John Blissard.

Pallbearers will be Bill Blissard, Jim Blissard, Brad Fleming, John Langley, Wes Lowe, Blake McCoy, Chad McCoy, Randy McCoy and Charlie Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Judy East, Becky Dallas, Gene Dallas, John Walden, Curtis Langley, Dan Langley, Charles Langley, Mike Langley, James Robert Fox, Hugh Langley, Winfred Lovelace, Billy Thorn Lovelace, Bobby Vaughn Langley and the members of the Wesley Fellowship Class.

Visitation will be from noon to service time today at the church.
