Pauline Frances Damon, 98, died Sunday, February 13, 2011, at her home in Park Towers in Amarillo, Texas.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Park Place Towers Parlor with Rev. Jerry Bell officiating. Graveside service and burial will be at 4:00 p.m. at Grant County Cemetery in Ulysses, Kan. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Damon was born November 7, 1912, at Alva, Oklahoma, to Ira and Ruby Pearl Keck. As a girl, she lived in Oklahoma, Colorado and Kansas.

Pauline was only 17 when she married Lowell E. Damon. After 56 years of marriage he preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her only sibling, Celestine Bruner. She was very active in her children's activities. She assisted as a Room Mother, Teacher's Aide, Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, also attending all their sport, musicals, recitals and all school programs and activities of her three children.

She worked in retail and in the restaurant and hotel business. She participated in flower shows around the Tri-state area. She was President of the Early Bird Garden Club of Ulysses for many years until it disbanded shortly before she moved to Amarillo about 10 years ago. She became qualified as a flower show judge and was asked to judge many fairs and shows in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas. She was awarded a life Membership Flower Judge Certificate.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Keith Damon and wife Julie of Edinburg, Texas, and Darrel Ray Damon and wife Janet of Ulysses, Kan.; her daughter, Dolores Spencer and husband Norman of Amarillo, Texas; one nephew, Mike Bruner and wife Glenda of Humbolt, Kan.; three grandchildren, April Williams of Logan, Utah, Melinda Spencer of Upland, Calif., and Deryk Damon of Palm Springs, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, plus many friends and loved ones.

The family suggests donations to your favorite charity.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
