Freel (sometimes spelled Friel) was a carpenter who lived in various places in Virginia, frequently listed in the homes of family like the HALE family (1910 census) and his brother Stuart (1920 census) . By 1942 he was the owner of a farm in Dutch Hollow, in Raphine, which he farmed. He was described as short with a medium build, blue eyes and dark hair on his draft card.
About 1901 he married Virgie MELTON. They had six children, Bonnie, Carl, Roscoe, William, Charles and Lucy.
NOTE: I am not familiar with Elsie M Poole Wheeler (1906 - 1999), and did not add this link. My father (living) was quite close to his uncle Freel and owns Uncle Freel's old carpentry tools. Perhaps he was married before but I don't know about another marriage or this child.
