OBITUARY for MERRILL R. ALEXANDER

MERRILLY R. ALEXANDER, 90, of Brookline Manor, BR1 Mifflintown, PA, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Manor.

Born January 4, 1915 in Mifflintown. Juniata County, he was a son of the late Hale S. and Mary E. (Singer) Alexander.

His wife, Ruth M. (Shelley) Alexander, whom he married October 19, 1936, survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Being the last of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Edna Zimmerman, June E. Regi, Catherine Scott and Elizabeth Falk.

He was a 1933 graduate of Fayette High School. McAlisterville.

Mr. Alexander was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII.

He retired from the Selinsgrove State School and Hospital as a childcare aid, after 28 years of service, and had previously been employed by the former Homer Smith Garage, Mifflintown.

Mr. Alexander attended the New Life Assembly of God Church, RR4 Mifflintown.

He enjoyed hunting and working on cars.

Services were held Saturday, November 5 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., McAlisterville, with Pastor Chip McCommons and Rev. Ted Janke officiating. Interment followed in Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. McAlisterville, with full military burial honors accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
