In 1850 Sarah Scott (Snelling) Tandy left Missouri with all but two of the Tandy children, bound for the Oregon Territory. This included Adelia Tandy, Jackson Tandy's daughter by his first wife. The Tandy family arrived in Oregon in 1851.
Two other Tandy children, Jackson Tandy's son Nathaniel Tandy from his first marriage, and Jackson and Sarah Scott (Snelling) Tandy's son Henry Tandy), remained in Missouri.
Two of Jackson and Sarah Tandy's children, Robert Rutherford Tandy and William Snelling Tandy, are also buried in Gillespie Cemtery.
