Eugene B. Adam, 86 of Aurora, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Aurora Manor.

He was born August 7, 1915, in Ripley County, Indiana.

Gene served proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Sgt. 1st Class.

He served with the 4th Armored Medical Battalion, the 4th Armored Division in the European Theater and the Battle of the Bulge.

He was also an honored recipient of the Bronze Star.

After serving his country, he moved to Aurora in 1945. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 27 1/2 years.

Gene was a member of St. Joseph Church.

He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

He is survived by his wife, Zita M. Adam; five children, Mary Anne (Don) Weber, Dave (Mona) Adam, Jean (Gerry) Walt, Margaret (Ken) Ramsey and John Adam; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Joseph, in infancy; his parents, John and Rose (Starck) Adam; six brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2, 2002, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Liturgical Wake Service at 4:30 p.m. at THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60506.

Lying in state Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 405 St. Joseph Ave., Aurora, IL. (630)844-3780. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment following in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church.
