DARDANELLE — Walter Eli Wallace, 68, of Dardanelle died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville.
Born March 18, 1942, in Centerville, he was the son of the late Walter Otha and Rosie May Huffman Wallace. He was a member of the Faith Church in Dardanelle and retired after 18 years as the receiving clerk for Harps Foods in Russellville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Wallace and Glen Wallace; sister, Edna Grace; and brothers-in-law, Charlie Grace, J.B. Turnbow and James Adams.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Mary Cooper Wallace of Dardanelle; daughter, Teresa Joy Wallace Cain and husband, Greg Cain, of Russellville; a brother, Pete Wallace and wife, Betty, of Dardanelle; two sisters, Betty Sue Adams of Dardanelle and Lucille Turnbow of Centerville; two sisters-in-law, Pat Wallace of Waldron and Eileen Wallace of Centerville and numerous nephews and nieces.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, with Bro. Ted Hern officiating. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. today at Cornwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be John Parker, Hoyt Crow, Larry Selby, Howard Ringer, Bo Garner and David Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers at Harps Food in Russellville, Men's Fellowship Group at the Faith Church and the staff at Legacy Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Russellville Animal Shelter, 3115 South Mobile Avenue, Russellville, Arkansas 72802.
