Carroll Porteous, 69, of Marion, Wisc., died Jan. 23, 1973 in the Lake Forest Hospital.
Mr. Porteous was born in Mundelein Jan 1, 1904 and was a life long resident of Mundelein. He was a member of the Libertyville Masonic Lodge #492 AF & AM. His ancestors were among the first residents of the Fremont-Mundelein area. Mr. Porteous worked as a carpenter prior to his death.
He is survived by his widow Edna, 1 son, John of Round Lake, a daughter Mrs. Roland [sic-Ronald] (Karen) Branke[y] of Grayslake, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mildred) Druba of Mundelein, and Mrs. Morris (Violet) Chandler of Arizona.
Funeral services were Fri. Jan. 26 in the Kristan Funeral home, 219 W. Maple, Mundelein, with interment to follow at the Ivanhoe cemetery.
