Mrs. Zola May Smith, 94, of Keyser, and formerly of Medley, died June 16, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser. She had been a resident of Heartland of Keyser the past seven months.

Born Feb. 9, 1909, in Smoke Hole, she was the daughter of the late John T. Self and Mary Elizabeth (Shirk) Self. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick R. Smith Sr., Oct. 15, 1979.

She is survived by one son, Frederick R. Smith Jr. of Beltsville, Md.; five daughters, Ruth Gochenour of Luray, Va., Polly Oates of Keyser, Mary Alice Whaley of Stephens City, Va., Freeda Pence of Charlottesville, Va., and Betty Mallow of Odenton, Md.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were June 19, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.
